From the President
By Anthony J. Tanzi, Staten Island Chapter President I welcome all of our chapter members, officers and the board to another new beginning. Thanks to all of the individuals who nominated me to serve as president for the coming term. It is a great honor and privilege to take on this prestigious role, and I look forward to working with all of our members. I am a partner with Del Rey and Company CPAs, LLP, and also a native Staten Islander. I have been a chapter member since 1991 and also have been actively involved as a board member or officer for the past 10 years. I have had the opportunity to work with many of the members on different committees to provide continuing education and other related programs that we successfully offered. Our strong efforts and dedication have made us the elite of our profession. I find it rewarding and encouraging that we all continue to strive for the betterment of our profession to provide our environment with the necessary tools that make us one step above the rest. I will continue to provide our chapter with the same successful programs we offered in the past, including informative continued education, and also plan to reach out to the high schools in our borough and educate the future students of our profession. Again, I look forward to accomplishing these goals. On behalf of all our members, I would like to take this time to express our appreciation for the outstanding job that our past president, Charlie Weintraub, as well as his fellow officers and board members did during the year. We are grateful for the outstanding programs they put in place. On May 21, the chapter held our annual installation dinner at the Renaissance Caterers. Charlie Weintraub chaired the event. The gala was a great success; a theater group performing “Tony Soprano’s Retirement Party” entertained us. It was an evening that we will never forget. As part of the evening and again here, I would like to congratulate and welcome the following officers and board members who were installed for the 2004–2005 term:
The success of our chapter would not be possible without having the continued involvement and dedication of the above individuals and chapter members. I thank all of you for your continued support. Anthony Tanzi can be reached at 718-667-1500 or jaamtanz@aol.com. |
