New Members Play Winter Pool By Barry Doll, Board Member of the Manhattan/Bronx Chapter More than 30 hustlers chalked up their cues at the Third Annual Pool Tournament held by the Manhattan/Bronx Chapter on Feb. 19. The members enjoyed themselves at Slate’s Plus billiard parlor in Manhattan, testing the cushions and sampling the food and beverages. Besides meeting old and new friends, there was the added bonus of gaining valuable information pertaining to the UBS wealth management platform and Lord Abbett Securities. This is the third year UBS and Lord Abbett Securities sponsored the tournament, and we are very grateful for their support. The winners were Laura Mazzola in the women’s division and Ramon Cartasano in the men’s division The sponsors noted that from a business perspective, the UBS wealth management platforms are relevant for CPAs and their clients, from the largest firms to sole practitioners. They add value by expanding the CPAs’ ability to help clients pursue financial goals without sacrificing their roles as trusted, impartial advisors. And Noah Tenenhaus from Lord Abbett Securities reported that his company can host a 401(k) plan for about 50 cents a day. Mark Martiak (mark.martiak@ubs.com), account vice president/ financial advisor at UBS Global Wealth Management and Business Banking, and Tenenhaus (ntenenhaus@lordabbett.com) provided awards to the winners. Judging by the conversations and activities, everyone had a good time. The Manhattan/ Bronx Chapter holds various social and professional events throughout the year and can be viewed at the Society’s chapter Website.
