| Message From the President By Glenn E. Albin, Rockland Chapter President As I sit here to write this article for the November Issue of The Trusted Professional, we are one month away from the most important election of our lifetime. I hope when you read last month’s article you had become involved in the political process. As a chapter, we are practicing what we preach. Our featured speaker at last month’s Networking Event was State Senator Thomas Morahan. He is a good friend to the CPAs in my chapter. We have some exciting events coming up this November. We are holding the Fourth Annual Tax Update, with Professor Dyckman, on Nov. 10. All registered attendees will receive a Master Tax Guide, courtesy of Paychex. The update will be held at the Comfort Inn in Nanuet, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Our second event will be our statewide Officers Visitation on Nov. 18 at 7:00 p.m. This night will feature a dinner for your enjoyment after a long, hard day at work, and a two-hour CPE ethics course, with a question-and-answer period with our state officers. Come get educated and informed about your profession. In December the Young CPAs Committee will host a Toys for Tots event. We also hope to coordinate a blood drive in December. As you are all aware, blood is in short supply during the holiday season. We will also have our NYS/IRS update on Jan. 11. I look forward to seeing you there. That is about it from the Rockland Chapter this month. Contact me if you have more ideas or comments. Glenn E. Albin can be reached at 845-680-7964 or Taxmanemtp@optonline.net. |
