Continuing Education By David Wojnas, Utica Chapter President Greetings, all! We have finalized our upcoming schedule of events with regards to continuing education courses for the season. The schedule is as follows: Oct. 4: Ramada Inn, New Hartford, N.Y. IRS and NYS E-Filing Update. Oct. 27: Holiday Inn, New Hartford, N.Y. Qualified Plans, Family Limited Partnerships and General Estate Planning Update, presented by Eugene Parrs. Nov. 16: Hotel Utica, Utica, N.Y. Annual Town Hall Meeting. The annual ethics CPE will also be presented at this event. Dec. 8: Radisson Hotel, Utica, N.Y. IPIC LIFO Inventory Calculations and Cost Segregation for Business Properties. All of the above events will be breakfast meetings starting at approximately 8:00 a.m., with the exception of the Town Hall Meeting, which will be a luncheon affair. We are also in the process of adding an early January 2006 CPE event. More details will be available in the next issue. On another note, our chapter held its annual golf outing on Wednesday, Aug. 31, at the Skenandoa Golf Club in Clinton, N.Y. Thirty-one golfers braved the remnants of Hurricane Katrina to participate. The winning team, which shot a gross score of 66, consisted of Mike Keenan, Don Sleeser, Rick Heysler and Rob Tarry. The second-place team, which shot a gross score of 67, consisted of Mike Fitzgerald, Scott Baur, Jordan Sweet and yours truly. Closest-to-the-pin was won by Mike Fitzgerald from the men’s division and Trish Lucas from the women’s division. The longest-drive winners were Rick Heysler from the men’s and Melissa Hanba from the women’s division. Thanks again to all who participated.
