Big Plans for the Fall By Dave Herman, Rockland Chapter President Here in Rockland, we had a good summer of courses for CPE credit in July and August. We covered a variety of topics, including IRA Distribution, Building a Successful Retirement, 1031 Exchange, Basic Divorce Planning, Basic Education Funding and a course in The Art of Rainmaking. Although attendance was not what we anticipated, these courses were well done, and we want to thank Rich Reidy from Smith Barney, Barry Powlishen from Citibank and Jim Farnham (The Art of Rainmaking) for their help, support and contributions to the chapter. We hope that these folks will continue to be supportive as we go forward this year. In September, we had great seats at our outing to the Yankee/Oriole game on Sept. 20. We are also working on an event for October. In November, we have our annual Town Hall Meeting, coupled with a free 2-hour ethics seminar. The only charge will be for dinner. This year we have moved the venue to Beth Carrie’s Restaurant in New City. As always, we are looking to add events, and appreciate any and all help from chapter members. If you have an idea or would like us to arrange a seminar topic of your choice, please contact any of the chapter officers. Michael Seidenberg, David Freihling, Mitchell Gusler or myself will be happy to speak with you about your ideas. We can also use some help if you feel up to it. Have a great autumn!
