| H&R Block Tax Prep Fees Rise 8.9 Percent NEW YORK -- H&R Block Inc., the largest U.S. tax preparer, said on Monday it collected nearly $2.8 billion of tax preparation and related fees in the 5-1/2 months that ended April 17, up 8.9 percent from a year earlier, Reuters reported. The Kansas City, Missouri-based company said the average fee per client in company-owned and franchised offices rose 4.7 percent to $172.32, according to Reuters. The client base of its retail and online operations, including TaxCut software, rose 2.8 percent to 20.34 million.
