| Items from Roslyn Scandal Auctioned UNIONDALE, N.Y. -- More than 300 seized items -- some from the Roslyn School District embezzlement scandal -- were listed at an auction of seized property held by the Nassau district attorney's office on Tuesday, according to Newsday. The confiscated wares from loan sharks, embezzlers, real estate swindlers and other crooks included items from Roslyn, including a 14-karat white gold necklace, diamond earrings and a sculpture. The proceeds from the auction, which drew nearly 200 people from New York City and across Long Island to the Nassau Coliseum in Uniondale, N.Y, will go to crime victims, including the Roslyn School District, the paper reported. The items were surrendered by Pamela Gluckin, the ex-assistant superintendent for business and her niece Debra Rigano, a former accounts clerk. They and two others are serving prison sentences for their roles in the $11-million embezzlement scandal, the paper reported. Gluckin admitted stealing $4 million from the district. After her conviction on grand larceny, the 61-year-old turned over jewelry and 13 paintings -- one original -- by marine artist Christian Lassen.
