The Win-Win Member Recruitment Contest

A Recruitment Contest for Members and Chapters!

Contest Dates: September 20, 2011 through April 30, 2012

Prizes | Rules | FAQs

Prizes

A new iPad2 for the winning individual member!

A cocktail party for the winning chapter’s contest participants!

How to participate: It’s simple: Just give an NYSSCPA membership application to a friend, or ask them to apply online. Tell them about the great benefits of membership, such as networking and chapter events. Finally, make sure that they put your name down in the “Member Referral” section of the application so that you get credit. Your new recruits will receive $50 off their membership dues when they provide your name in the “Referred by” section of the application – a “win-win!”

Rules

1.      Only nonstudent recruits count toward individual and chapter totals.
2.      Credit for recruitment is applied when an applicant provides a member’s name in the “Member Referral” section of the online application or the paper application. (If using an older version of the paper application without the “Member Referral” section, the applicant should be instructed to write in “Member Referral” and the member’s name.)
3.      Credit for a new applicant is applied to the preferred chapter of the applicant. Chapters receive credit when the “Member Referral” section of the application is completed.
4.      Chapters compete on the basis of chapter membership (as of September 15, 2011). Twenty (20) new members are the minimum requirement for the chapter to be eligible to win.

FAQs

Q. I recruit new student members. Do those recruitments count toward my totals?
A. No. Referring new student members does not count toward this particular contest.

Q. How does an individual win the recruitment contest?
A. By recruiting more members than any other individual member during the contest period.

Q. How does a chapter win the recruitment contest?
A. By meeting a minimum requirement of recruiting 20 new members during the contest period. After the minimum is met, the total of new recruits will be evaluated as a percentage of chapter membership as of September 15, 2011. The chapter with the highest percentage as a total of membership wins.

Q. How is credit applied for individual members?
A. Credit is applied when an applicant fills in the “Member Referral” section of the application online or on paper. If using an older version of the paper application without the “Member Referral” section, the applicant should be instructed to write in “Member Referral” and the member’s name.

Q. How is credit applied for chapters?
A. Credit is applied when an applicant fills in the “Member Referral” section of the application online or on paper. Credit is applied to the preferred chapter of the new recruit (i.e., the chapter to which the new recruit will belong).

Q. Does a sponsor count as a referring member?
A. No. All associate members are required to have a member sponsor. However, those sponsors will not be given credit for the referral unless the applicant also supplies their name in the “Member Referral” section of the application.
