- Assembly Bill A11156: (Eve) This bill provides for imposition of 4% state sales tax on legal, accounting, architectural, engineering, lawn care, landscaping and protographic services and equipment rental; exempts legal services endered to individuals; and make administrative provisions therefor. This bill has been introduced in each legislative term since 1991 but has never been reported from the Assembly Ways and Means Committee. No identical bill has been introduced in the State Senate.
Status: 4-18-02 Referred to the Assembly Committee on Ways and Means - Senate Bill S03264 (LaValle) / Assembly Bill A06487 (Cahill): Authorizes non-licensee to perform reviews and compliations so long as the review or compilation is not accompanied by any statement, report or wording indicating that the non-licensee is a CPA, licensed public accountant or auditor. Non-licensees would be authorized to use specified safe harbor language when performing a compilation or review.
