Special POP Pass Administrative & Registration Guidelines

In response to the recent accountancy law, the FAE Board of Trustees has approved a special one-time offer to enable CPAs in industry and other NYSSCPA members and FAE CPE users to meet the new CPE requirement for the new calendar reporting period of December 31, 2009. This limited 4-month offer begins September 1, 2009 and expires December 31, 2009.

Please note: If you completed your CPE requirements prior to 9/1/2009 but after 9/1/2008, you do not need to take additional CPE for the period 9/1/2009 – 12/31/2009. This special 4-month extension back to 9/1/2008 is valid only in 2009. Please note that all CPAs are required to complete either 40 hours of approved CPE or 24 hours of concentrated study in an approved field of study each year. The next CPE reporting period will run from 1/1/2010 – 12/31/2010. That is the next cycle in which you must comply with either the 40 or 24 hour CPE requirement.

Since this Special POP Pass expires December 31, 2009, all registrations must be received and processed by December 17, 2009. No extensions will be granted. Other restrictions apply. Individual POP 3 & POP 5 Special POP Passes can be purchased ONLY online using a credit card.
For details see attached Special POP Pass Administrative and Registration Guidelines, or visit our website at www.nysscpa.org.

Firms: You may register by mail, fax, or online via the Special POP registration page. Individual Special POP Pass Users: Special passes for POP 3 & POP 5 can be purchased only online using a credit card.

3. Each Special POP Pass number is good for one registration for one eight-hour, full-day FAE program or two four-hour programs held on the same day at the same location. (A two-day program requires two coupon numbers; a three-day program requires three coupon numbers.)

4. The Special POP Pass numbers are owned by the paying entity. If a company or organization pays for an NYSSCPA Member (Individual) Special POP Pass on behalf of a staff member who subsequently leaves the company, the remaining Special POP Pass numbers may be transferred to one member of the firm without penalty; however, a maximum of 24 CPE credit hours will be permitted for the second Pass holder.

5. All sales are final; the entire fee is nonrefundable.

6. Early registration is required for seminars and conferences. Special POP Pass registrations need to be received by FAE 14 days in advance of the program. POP walk-ins will not be permitted.

7. NYSSCPA Member (Individual) Special POP Pass or Firm/Company Special POP Pass holder registrants who are "no shows" for an event will be billed $50. This amount must be paid before a registrant or a member of the company can attend another seminar or conference. All established late cancellation/transfer fees remain as they are for non-POP Pass holders.

8. All Individual Special POP Pass holders must bring a valid photo ID for admission to attend the CPE event.

9. Subscriptions to the Special POP Program do not entitle Special Pass holders to course materials without attending programs for which they are registered.

10. Special Pass holders leaving before 2:30 p.m. will be charged an additional $75 to cover program cost. This amount must be paid before a registrant or a member of the company can attend another seminar or conference.

11. NYSSCPA Member (Individual) or Firm/Company Special POP Pass numbers MAY NOT be used for any and all chapter programs.

Confirmations

A confirmation card will be mailed to you confirming your seminar or conference registration. This card is required for admission, so bring it with you when you attend the course. Cancellations/Refunds

1. If you wish to cancel your registration, you must provide written notice of your cancellation either by fax to 1-866-495-1354 or an e-mail sent to registration@nysscpa.org.

2. All cancellations made more than 14 days prior to the program date will not incur a penalty fee.

3. Cancellations made less than 14 days before an event will result in the forfeiture of the entire registration fee.

4. All sales are final; the entire fee is nonrefundable.

5. The Foundation for Accounting Education allows a registrant to transfer to another program or substitute another person without a penalty more than 14 days prior to the program date. Transfers and substitutions requested less than 14 days will be charged a $25.00 processing fee.

6. FAE makes no guarantee that a given event will be presented or regarding notification of such cancellation. If you register for a FAE event, you understand and agree not to hold FAE or the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants liable for damages of any kind, whether actual, special, indirect, incidental, or consequential, caused by such cancellations or failures to notify registrants of cancellations.

2. Once a transfer or substitution is processed, any subsequent substitution or transfer is subject to a $25.00 processing fee.

3. No transfers will be made on or after the course date.
