Nominating Committee Biographies

FOR PRESIDENT-ELECT
JO ANN GOLDEN, Partner, Dermody, Burke & Brown, CPA, P.C., New Hartford, New York. Member of the Society since 1992. Currently serving as the Society’s Vice President for Chapters, a member of the Board of Directors and the Executive Committee, Government Relations Director, a member of the Finance Committee, and Committee on Committee Operations. Prior committee service includes the Minority Group Recruitment and Equal Opportunity Committee (Chair), the Chapter Relations Committee, and the General Committee on Public Relations. Served as President of the Utica Chapter and member of the Utica Chapter Liaison for Educational Career Day and the Utica Chapter Public Relations Committee (Chair).

FOR VICE PRESIDENT
G. WILLIAM HATFIELD, Principal, G. William Hatfield, CPAs, P.C., Oneida, NY. Member of the Society since 1975. Currently serving as a member of the Society’s Board of Directors. Currently serving as a member of the Litigation Support Committee. Prior committee service includes membership on the Legislation Committee, Personal Financial Planning Committee and Management of an Accounting Practice Committee. Served as Syracuse Chapter President, President-Elect, Secretary and Vice-President.

ELLIOT L. HENDLER, Principal and Director of Quality Control, Friedman Alpren & Green, LLP. Member of the Society since 1962. Currently serving as a member of the SEC Practice Committee, Committee on Committee Operations and Membership Committee. Prior service includes Secretary of the Society, member of the Board of Directors, the Executive Committee. Prior committee service includes the Annual Study Conference (Chair), Annual Conference, Finance Committee, Advisory Committee on Appointments, General Committee on Accounting and Auditing, Quality Review Oversight Committee, Accounting and Review Services Committee, Auditing Standards and Procedures Committee, Financial Accounting Standards Committee, Interim Financial Statements Committee, Construction Contractors Accounting Committee, Real Estate Accounting, Relations with the Internal Revenue Service Committee and Quality Control Practice Assistance Committee. RONALD J. HUEFNER, Distinguished Teaching Professor, Department of Accounting & Law, State University of New York, Buffalo, New York. Member of the Society since 1971. Served as Buffalo Chapter President, President-Elect, Vice-President, and Treasurer. Currently serving as a member of the Higher Education Committee. Prior committee service as a chair or member includes the Board of Directors and its Executive Committee, Task Force on Chapters (Chair), Chapter Relations Committee, Scholarship Awards Committee (Chair), Scholarship Task Force, General Committee on Higher Education and Entry to the Profession, General Committee on Education in Colleges and Universities, and as a Trustee of the Foundation for Accounting Education.

KEVIN J. MCCOY, Managing Director, Marvin and Company, P.C., Latham, New York. Member of the Society since 1977. Currently serving as a member of the Society’s Board of Directors, Audit Committee and Managing Partners Committee. Prior committee service includes the Finance Committee, Government Relations Director, and the Political Action Committee Task Force. Served as Northeast Chapter President, President-elect, Vice-President, Treasurer and Secretary.

FOR SECRETARY
SHARON SABBA FIERSTEIN, Vice President, PW Funding, Inc., Mineola, New York. Member of the Society since 1985. Currently serving as a Secretary of the Society and member of the Board of Directors, Finance Committee, the FAE Board of Trustees and Committee on Committee Operations (Chair). Prior committee service includes the Chief Financial Officers Committee and the LUCA Online Committee (Co-chair). Also served as a member of Recruitment of CPA Careers, General Committee on Members in Public Practice and Advancement of Women in the Accounting Profession Committee.

FOR TREASURER
FRANK J. AQUILINO, Chairman of the Accounting, Law and Taxation Department at Montclair State University. Member of the Society since 1976. Currently serving on the Finance Committee (Chair), the Hall of Fame Committee and the Annual Conference Committee. Also member of the Education Committee and Accounting and Auditing Committee for Staten Island Chapter, and Treasurer of the Staten Island Chapter. Prior service includes Annual Conference Committee, Vice President of the Society, member of the Board of Directors, Audit Committee (Chair), Task Force to Review the Annual Conference, and Government Relations Director.

PETER L. BERLANT, Partner, Anchin, Block & Anchin, LLP. Member of the Society since 1982. Currently serving as a member of the Futures of the Profession Oversight Committee (Chair), Committee on Committee Operations, and the General Committee on Public Relations. Prior Committee service includes member of the Cooperation with Financial Media Awards, Comm. PETER H. FRANK, Information Technology Partner, Cornick, Garber & Sandler, LLP. Member of the Society since 1988. Currently serving as member of the Consulting Services Oversight Committee (Chair), the Interactive Online Resource Committee and the Committee on Committee Operations. Prior committee service includes the Emerging Technologies Committee, Data Processing Committee and Management Consulting Services Committee, the Consulting Services Conference and FAE’s Emerging Technologies Conference (Chair). Recipient of FAE’s Outstanding Discussion Leader Award. Recently received the AICPA’s new CITP designation (Certified Information Technology Professional).

MARK A. PLOSTOCK, Sole Practitioner,Syosset, New York. Member of the Society since 1983. Currently serving as a Trustee of Foundation for Accounting Education Long Island COAP Board member. Member of Interactive Online resource committee (prior chair), Emerging Technologies and New York State, Municipal and Local Tax. Prior committee service as a member includes Membership, Chapter Relations, Legislation and Annual Conference. Served as Nassau Chapter President, President-Elect, Vice-President, Treasurer, and secretary.

HOWARD D. WEINER, Audit Partner, Holtz Rubenstein & Co., LLP, Melville, New York. Member of the Society since 1970. Currently serving as a member of the Peer Review Committee and Annual Conference Committee. Prior committee service includes member of the Annual Conference Committee, the Audit Sampling Committee, Chapter Relations Committee, Accounting and Auditing Services Practice Management Committee and FAE Board of Trustees. Previously served as President, President-Elect, Vice President and Treasurer of the Nassau Chapter.
