.S. Treasury Secretary Jack Lew said that the $10 bill will be redesigned to feature a woman in the year 2020, the centennial anniversary of the 19th amendment which gave women the right to vote, according to
CNN Money. While the specific woman has not yet been determined, whoever she is, she will replace Alexander Hamilton, the first Secretary of Treasury. While there had been a recent push to for a woman to be on the $20, replacing Andrew Jackson, Lew said that the effort came, coincidentally, around the same time that the Treasury Department was considering design changes to the $10, which is why the news concerns that bill instead. The department is currently soliciting input on who should be on the new $10 with the Twitter hashtag #TheNew10.
