The Securities and Exchange Commission has named Wesley R. Bricker, CPA, as Interim Chief Accountant as the current Chief Accountant, James Schnurr, recovers from a serious bike accident, according to a press release. Bricker, a former PwC audit partner specializing in banking, capital markets, financial technology, and investment management sectors, has served as Deputy Chief Accountant since 2015. He was also a professional accounting fellow at the Office of the Chief Accountant from 2009 to 2011.

“Wes’ expert knowledge, leadership and analytic skills and Jim’s expertise and wealth of experience will continue to provide critical service to investors, companies and the Commission,” said SEC Chair Mary Jo White.

No details have been forthcoming about Schnurr's bike accident, or the injuries sustained during it.
