PwC Eclipses Deloitte as Biggest of Big Four

PWCThrough aggressive expansion since the financial crisis, particularly in its consulting arm, PricewaterhouseCoopers has surpassed Deloitte as the largest of the Big Four firms in terms of revenue, according to the Financial Times (login required). At the end of the June 30 fiscal year, the firm had $35.4 billion in gross revenues, slightly higher than previous number one spot holder Deloitte, which at that same time had $35.2 billion. This represents a 10 percent jump in revenue from last year, said the Financial Times.

Much of this revenue growth can be attributed to its growing consulting practice, particularly its recent acquisition of Booze and Co., which it renamed Strategy & Consulting after bringing it under its umbrella. Consulting overall accounted for 30 percent of PwC's overall revenues, said the Financial Times.
