CPA Firms Increasingly Embracing Casual Dress Codes

Cut_tieEmployers in general are ditching traditional office-wear in greater numbers, and CPA firms are no exception, with several major firms having come out in favor of wearing jeans to work, according to The Journal of Accountancy. It could be due to greater demand by workers: a recent survey found that 31 percent would prefer working at a business with a casual dress code, with an additional 27 percent saying they would prefer there not be one at all, according to the Journal of Accountancy. It could also be client-driven: an article in Crain's Chicago noted that since many clients are adopting more casual dress codes, CPA firms are following suit.

However, perhaps care should be taken to not go overboard with this trend: Fridays may have gotten a little too casual at UK-based company Onebestway, which tried out a naked Friday to see whether it would boost morale. For most offices, that might be, as they say on the Internet, not safe for work.
