Australian Computer Scientist Claims He Invented Bitcoin

BitcoinCraig Wright, a computer scientist from Australia, has come forward and said he is the man who created Bitcoin, the digital currency, though there is some doubt as to his claims, according to The Economist. The man who claims to be the one behind the pseudonym Satoshi Nakamoto offered as proof a set of cryptographic keys that he says confirms his assertion. Adding further evidence is the word of Gavin Anderson, the former president of the Bitcoin Foundation, who says Wright is indeed the inventor of Bitcoin. 

While Wired reported a similar claim last December, later information cast serious doubt on the evidence. While The Economist believes Wright's most recent evidence is convincing, it would not confirm the claim completely, saying that important questions remain unanswered. The Bitcoin community is even more skeptical with some even saying that Anderson did not in fact back Wright's claims but was hacked
