  • Assembly Bill A01041-B: (Same as Senate Bill S04960-A) (Canestrari) Provides for civil enforcement proceedings and penalties for unlicensed practice of a profession; allows action to be brought in name of people of New York state; provides for cease and desist orders.

  • Senate Bill S01407 / Assembly Bill A02107: A Budget Bill submitted by Gov. George Pataki that includes provisions to transfer the office of professions from the state education department to the department of state.     2002

  • Assembly Bill A11156: (Eve) This bill provides for imposition of 4% state sales tax on legal, accounting, architectural, engineering, lawn care, landscaping and protographic services and equipment rental; exempts legal services endered to individuals; and make administrative provisions therefor. This bill has been introduced in each legislative term since 1991 but has never been reported from the Assembly Ways and Means Committee. No identical bill has been introduced in the State Senate.

  • Senate Bill S03264 (LaValle) / Assembly Bill A06487 (Cahill): Authorizes non-licensee to perform reviews and compliations so long as the review or compilation is not accompanied by any statement, report or wording indicating that the non-licensee is a CPA, licensed public accountant or auditor. Non-licensees would be authorized to use specified safe harbor language when performing a compilation or review.
