Information Technology Committee
The committee's purposes are to assist the society membership in expanding their knowledge and comfort level with Information Technology and enhance the committee members' opportunities for revenue generation and client assistance.
The Information Technology Committee is a resource to the NYSSCPA members regarding Information Technology. This includes but is not limited to:
- Operating Systems
- Applications
- Communication
- Wireless Networks
- Networks
- Security
- Customization Tools
- Peripherals
The committee can help the membership with their how to knowledge on Information Technology as well as exposing them to new techniques to accomplish their tasks.
What We Do
The Committee provides the following technical, educational, and networking activities:
- Addresses technical questions from NYSSCPA members.
- Conducts educational conferences and technical sessions relevant to NYSSCPA members as well as the communities at large.
- Provides networking opportunities to NYSSCPA members at committee meetings, technical sessions, and conferences.
- Disseminates information through articles and commentary in professional publications, and other media.
- Offers explanations to simplify concepts and to allow members to further understand terminology.
- Educate members so that their internal communication between staff and IT personnel can be at a higher or more detail level.
- As part of the technical sessions offer information to assist the membership in being more productive with their existing equipment and applications.
