Business Valuation Committee

Committee Action Plan

The committee serves as a resource for information on the current and evolving techniques and methodologies available for various business valuation purposes. It sponsors a conference and other educational programs, holds technical presentations, addresses proposed accounting rules and has a technical response subcommittee to assist members with business valuation issues.

Instructions on Subscribing to the Business Valuation Committee Listserv

The committee's listserv is called "Business_Valuation".

Instructions for subscribing to the "Business_Valuation" listserv follow:

1. Send an e-mail to: imailsrv@nysscpa.org:

Leave the "Subject" line blank AND in the message area type: subscribe Business_Valuation [your first and last name]

For instance, Mr. Cohen would type, "subscribe Business_Valuation Morton Cohen" (without the quotation marks). Please note that this is ALL that should be in the message area. So delete extraneous material that pops up when you send an e-mail, such as an e-mail "signature" or firm logo.

2. The machine will send back a message acknowledging your subscription request.

3. Thereafter committee members wanting to send something to the Listserv should address it to Business_Valuation@NYSSCPA.ORG

When responding to a listserv message, be aware that by hitting the "reply" button, the response goes only to the addressee, not to the entire group. [This is unlike the practice of many other listservs.] Also remember that a message sent to the listserv is received only by those committee members who have subscribed. Some will choose not to subscribe, or may not have e-mail.
