ACTION PLAN
Who we are:
The Peer Review Committee’s mission is to implement the peer review program established by the Peer Review Board of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (“PRP”) in New York State.
What we do:
To fulfill its mission, the committee:
- Evaluates the results of peer reviews conducted on program members in New York State, determines the need for follow-up remedial or corrective actions, if any and monitors such follow-up actions.
- Oversees the administration of the AICPA peer review program by State Society staff
- Oversees the performance of AICPA qualified peer reviewers in New York State
- Provides educational and other assistance to qualified peer reviewers to assure their compliance with the PRP standards.
- Provides input on matters concerning peer review related areas to the Society’s Board of Directors
In performing its mission, the committee is mindful of the profession’s covenant to serve the public interest with integrity and objectivity.
