Investment Companies Committee

Investment Companies Committee
Committee Action Plan

Who We Are

We are a multi-disciplinary committee comprised of members of the Society who work for, or provide accounting, auditing, tax or consulting services to those entities which are subject to the AICPA's Investment Companies Audit and Accounting Guide, and their advisers. These include Investment Partnerships, Unit Investment Trusts, Mutual Funds, and other pooled investment vehicles.

What We Do

  • Monitor, review, discuss and comment, in coordination with other appropriate responding committees, on developments in rules and regulations related to the industry including, but not limited to, those promulgated by:

    o Securities and Exchange Commission
o Public Company Accounting Oversight Board
    o Financial Accounting Standards Board
o American Institute of Certified Public Accountants
    o Internal Revenue Service
    o State Tax Authorities
    o Relevant Foreign Tax Authorities
    o Commodity Futures Trading Commission
    o National Futures Association
    o Financial Industry Regulatory Authority
    o Offshore Regulators

  • Sponsor an annual conference covering current topics related to the above entities, and not in conflict with other relevant conferences.
  • Address technical questions from members.

Who Should Join

Members who have significant relevant experience in the industry who are willing to actively participate in committee meetings and projects and those members with less experience, but a strong interest in the area will be considered.
