Chief Financial Officers Committee

Committee Action Plan

Mission:

The mission of the CFO committee is to provide and develop a forum for NYSSCPA members who are senior financial executives in industry (CFO’s, Controllers, VP’s of Finance), where they can meet and exchange ideas and knowledge.

Key Objectives:

The committee focuses on the following specific objectives in order to promote our mission:

1. Hold regular meetings/gatherings that offer senior financial executives the opportunity to network and exchange ideas with each other. Accounting firms are by their nature full of accountants. A NYSSCPA member in public accounting has fellow CPA’s in his own firm to discuss issues with and ask advice. Once a CPA moves into industry, he or she maybe the only senior financial executive in the organization where the skill set is very different to that needed in a CPA firm. The CFO committee is a forum these executives can use to develop a knowledge base network of other senior financial executives.

2. Include in our regular meetings, topics by speakers that are relevant to senior financial executives in industry.

3. Represent and promote the views of senior financial executives in industry to the leadership of the NYSSCPA’s.

4. Develop an annual conference and other events with the dual purpose of providing useful CPE to senior financial executives and creating awareness of the committee and its benefits to members in industry.
