Who we are
The Banking Committee is a resource to the NYSSCPA membership regarding developing accounting, financial reporting and related business issues for the Banking industry.
What we do
The Committee provided the following technical, educational and networking activities:
- Addresses technical questions from NYSSCPA members
- Monitors new accounting rules or legislation related to the banking industry
- Conducts educational conferences/technical sessions
- Provides the opportunity to comment upon exposure drafts for new standards, pronouncements or similar documents, as well as implementation and interpretive guidance
- Affords networking opportunities at committee meetings and conferences
- Disseminates information through articles in The CPA Journal, The Trusted Professional and other publications
Who Should Join
All NYSSCPA members in the banking industry as well as those in private practices who audit or provide advisory services to the industry should join. In addition, CPA’s from various regulatory agencies are drawn to the Banking Committee.
