COAP Fundraising
The Career Opportunities in the Accounting Profession program (COAP) is an important effort to recruit promising young students into the accounting profession. COAP is funded and operated by the Foundation for Accounting Education (FAE). FAE is a 501 (C) (3) organization. Contributions are tax deductable to extend provided by law.
Since its inception in 1987, over 1,500 minority students have participated in the COAP program. In the past five years we have significantly expanded COAP so that today a program exists in most major cities in New York State (Brooklyn, Queens, Long Island, Syracuse, Buffalo, White Plains, Pleasantville, New Paltz, Rochester and Albany). This kind of expansion is costly, but we believe that such an investment is necessary in order to attract more young people to the CPA profession.
There are three ways you can help support COAP:
• By purchasing an advertisement in the program journal for the 112th NYSSCPA Annual Election Meeting and Dinner on May 14, 2009 you can help keep this program active and vital. Each COAP program is highlighted in the Journal and we also list of some of the COAP alumni who have gone onto to rewarding careers as CPAs. Take a look at the Insertion Order Form and see the different types of ads your CPA firm or company can purchase.
• Any NYSSCPA member can support our Future CPAs through a member contribution. Just click here – COAP Contribution and your support will be felt by upcoming COAP students.
• Send a check to payable to FAE, 3 Park Avenue, 18th Floor, New York, NY 10016-5991
Attention: William Pape. Be sure to note COAP in the memo field.
