Quality Enhancement Policy Committee
The Quality Enhancement Policy Committee is a standing senior committee of the NYSSPCA whose purpose is to:
- Recommend to the Executive Committee and the Board of Directors strategic policy positions on peer review, ethics, pre-certification education and continuing professional education.
- Recommend membership requirements for peer review, ethics, pre-certification education and continuing professional education.
- Provide a focal point for initiation or consideration of changes in membership requirements related to peer review, ethics, pre-certification education and continuing professional education.
- Provide a means for Society members that are not members of the Peer Review and Professional Ethics Committees to have a voice in such membership requirements and in quality control, peer review and ethics standards on a continuous basis.
- Provide policy oversight to and ensure that the Peer Review and Professional Ethics Committees maintain an adequate membership with the appropriate background and expertise to discharge the committees' responsibilities in a reasonable manner.
- Recommend policies and integration strategies for ethics and quality control standards relative to all areas of practice and across all activities of the NYSSCPA and FAE.
The committee's membership, appointed by the Society President, should be broad based, with members drawn from all segments of Society membership, as well as members of the public to serve in an advisory capacity, and should not include members who would be serving concurrently on the Peer Review or Professional Ethics Committees.
