Enron, Creditors Reach Agreement

HOUSTON -- Bankrupt Enron Corp. Friday said it had reached a tentative agreement with its creditors and had asked a U.S. Bankruptcy Court in New York for a short extension to file its reorganization plan, Reuters reported.

In a joint motion with the unsecured creditors committee and the bankruptcy examiner looking at its North American assets, Enron said it had asked U.S. Bankruptcy Judge Arthur Gonzalez to approve a filing delay until July 11.

If Gonzales approves a delay at a hearing June 30, Enron said it would file its reorganization plan and bankruptcy disclosure statement on the July 11 date.
