Ex-Andersen Auditor's Sentencing Delayed

HOUSTON -- For the fourth time, a federal judge has postponed the sentencing of David Duncan, the former top Enron Corp. auditor at Andersen who admitted directing the destruction of Enron-related documents, The Associated Press reported.

U.S. District Judge Melinda Harmon this week postponed his May 16 sentencing to Nov. 21, the latest delay in sentencing granted since Duncan pleaded guilty to obstruction of justice more than a year ago.

Prosecutors asked for the delay, with approval from Duncan's attorneys, because "his cooperation with the government isn't yet completed," court documents said.

Duncan was first slated to be sentenced in August 2002, then October, and then January before the May date was set.
