in Industry + NYSSCPA = Career Success
The
New York State Society of CPAs plays a central role in addressing
issues affecting the industry CPA. It is a conduit for industry
members to express their concerns and a focal point for learning
about solutions and key resources. The Society offers opportunities
for industry CPAs to demonstrate leadership skills and provides
a forum for sharing perspectives, best practices and networking.
Gaining recognition within the profession is an added and important
benefit for participating CPAs. Through its educational arm, the
Foundation for Accounting Education, the NYSSCPA exposes you to
an industry CPA-specific curriculum, designed to help you grow
professionally by building skills and empowering you to meet today's
challenges.
One of the
major areas for such interaction is the NYSSCPA's Industry Committees.
These committees promote a favorable image of the profession in
the eyes of the public, contribute to solutions of the profession's
issues and carry out educational activities. They include some
of the major industries served by CPAs, both within the industry
and by firms.
All of these
committees meet at the NYSSCPA headquarters in New York City with
the added opportunity for teleconferencing and reimbursement for
travel over 140 miles.
There are
also opportunities for discussing major issues, providing leadership
and networking on the local level. The Society's chapters provide
programs, activities and committees for members on a local level.
