Settlements Reached Over Auction Rate Securities WASHINGTON -- The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) Division of Enforcement has announced that a preliminary settlement in principle has been reached with the investment bank Merrill Lynch that would enable investors who purchased auction rate securities (ARS) from the firm to receive a total of up to $7 billion to restore their losses and liquidity. |
