Dear Subscriber, In a news conference this morning, the AICPA announced the defeat of the controversial Global Credential Initiative. The vote ends two years of lobbying both for and against the proposal, and in the end the members decided its fate. Also, the new mayor takes over in New York City and vows no new taxes, while the IRS gets handcuffed on busting up tax shelters. The staff of the NYSSCPA E-zine will continue to cover and report on these topics that are important to New York area CPAs. Further, members of the Society and FAE also stand ready to help with questions on CPE and FAE courses, conferences and seminars. Thank you
for your continued Sincerely, NYSSCPA.org Web Site Staff
