New Safe Harbor for Reverse Like-Kind Exchanges

Like-kind exchanges are powerful tools that can defer gain recognition for taxpayers. The IRS has made like-kind exchanges of qualified property an even more attractive and flexible tax-planning tool through a safe harbor for reverse like-kind exchanges that can takes much of the risk out of the transaction.

Official Nominating Committee Report

NEW YORK -- The NYSSCPA Nominating Committee released its selections for the 2003-2004 Society officers and directors. A member proxy/ballot pertaining to the election of the 2003-2004 officers will be included with CPA members’ issue of the March Trusted Professional. The annual election of the members will occur on May 15.

Deloitte Appoints NYSSCPA Members to Executive Spots

NEW YORK -- Deloitte & Touche announced this week that three NYSSCPA members were appointed to high-level company positions.

AICPA Announces Plans to Evaluate Specialty Credential Programs

NEW YORK -- The American Institute of Certified Public Accountants announced in a letter Tuesday that it is in the process of evaluating its specialty credential programs in order to “understand how best to allocate resources.
