Frequently Asked Questions

I just signed up for an e-CPE course. Now what?

After you purchase an e-CPE course you will receive an email with the login information and detailed instructions for signing into your virtual classroom. We recommend these guidelines to get the most out of any e-CPE course:

  • Review the instruction email 24 hours prior to your course to avoid last minute confusion.
  • Download and print any associated class materials 24 hours before your course.
  • Sign into the virtual classroom 30 minutes before the class is scheduled to begin.
  • Settle back and enjoy! You avoided a harrowing commute, uncomfortable chairs, and muffins with only one blueberry. You’re smarter already!

What is the difference between a webcast and a webinar?

A webcast is an online course taught with video, audio and Power Point. For questions about an ACPEN webcast, click here.

A webinar is an online course taught with audio and Power Point. For questions about a CPE Link webinar, click here.

Do I get minute for minute credit for these courses?

All e-CPE courses are categorized as “live Internet-based group study”. This means that you get credit for every minute of course time.

Are all FAE courses available as e-CPE courses?

At the moment our seminars and conferences are not available as e-CPE courses. We look forward to offering portions of our conferences and committee sponsored technical sessions in the future.

What if I have a question for the speaker?

All of the learning platforms used by our vendors provide interaction with speakers during the course, just like a live classroom. You will have an opportunity to explore the learning platform in the 30 minutes before your class starts. Just click on the appropriate button and ask away!

Who issues the CPE certificates?

The vendor providing the course issues the CPE certificate. Some of the NYSSCPA committee sponsored technical sessions are also available as webinars or webcasts. The CPE credit for those sessions is issued by NYSSCPA/FAE.

I have a great idea for a course. Who do I tell?

We love getting feedback from our members. Email us at ecpe@nysscpa.org.

My question isn’t answered here. What should I do?

Every question you ask is another opportunity for us to improve the e-CPE program. Email your questions and concerns to ecpe@nysscpa.org. We look forward to hearing from you!
