I would like to commend New York Governor Andrew Cuomo and state lawmakers for passing a budget that for the second year in a row will be implemented on time and comes closer to putting New York State on solid financial footing.
This budget aims to create a sustainable financial plan for New York State during a time of economic uncertainty and does so without raising taxes. It will help close budget gaps and simultaneously provide much needed funding to valuable state programs and resources.
The NYSSCPA has consistently urged the state to develop a sensible and sustainable budget that benefits all New Yorkers. By holding the line on taxes for the middle class and increasing funding for education and job creation initiatives, this budget will effect real change and promote both short and long-term growth.
