NEW YORK, NY, MAY 15, 2012 – The New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants (NYSSCPA) installed Gregory J. Altman, CPA of East Amherst, as a director representing its Buffalo Chapter at its 115th Annual Election Meeting & Dinner held at the New York Marriott Marquis on May 10. Altman is the CFO of Somerset Capital Partners in Williamsville. Altman’s term is for three years and begins on June 1, 2012.
Altman joined the NYSSCPA in 1989. He is a current member of its Membership Committee and a past member of its Awards Committee. Altman is a member of the Buffalo Chapter’s Executive Board and is a past president, president-elect, vice president, treasurer and assistant treasurer for the chapter. He has previously served as the chair of the chapter’s Tax Institute committee and is a current member of its Cooperation with Educational Institutions and Audit and Accounting committees.
Altman is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
He also serves on the finance committee for The Olmsted Conservancy in Buffalo and is a past president of the Western New York Kidney Foundation.
Altman earned his bachelor´s degree from New York University and graduated from the State University of New York at Buffalo´s Graduate Tax Certificate Program.
