NEW YORK – (May 8, 2015) – Dana Perino, a former White House press secretary and one of cable TV’s top political commentators, is joining the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants (nysscpa.org) this Thursday for their 118thanniversary.
Perino, who worked in the George W. Bush Administration and is a co-host of Fox TV’s “The Five”, will share some of her favorite lessons learned about civility, optimism and the power of bipartisan cooperation during her keynote address at theMay 14 event. Her new book, And the Good News Is..., released April 21, is currently No. 2 on the New York Times Best Sellers List for non-fiction.
The Society’s 118th Annual Election Meeting and Dinner - entitled Tribute, Reflection, and Inauguration - will be held at the Eventi Hotel in Manhattan, 851 Avenue of the Americas. A 5 p.m. networking reception precedes the dinner.
Tributes will be made to New York City's Sidney Kess, of Kostelanetz& Fink, LLP, one of the most influential and respected tax educators of the past 50 years; and the late David Moynihan of Syracuse, a former president of the NYSSCPA and partner with Bonadio Group. At the dinner, the NYSSCPA will launch The Moynihan Fund, a new educational trust to support scholarships and financial literacy, in honor of Moynihan's legacy. The Society’s new leader Joseph Falbo Jr., a partner with Tronconi, Segarra & Associates LLP in Buffalo, also will be installed officially as 2015-16 president.
