Comptroller's Press Conference on School District Audits

New York State Comptroller Alan Hevesi on Thursday, Jan. 6, held a press conference regarding school district audits. Below is a press release, as well as other supporting materials that address his findings (Adobe Acrobat required for all documents).

Knowing that this information was to be released, the New York State Education Department (SED) contacted the New York State Society of CPAs late Wednesday, Jan. 5, to post on the Society Web site a memo on auditor independence, which includes a link to the audit reference manual for audits of New York State school districts.
