Military Income Tax Program
Volunteer Form

Volunteers Needed for Mid-Hudson Military Income Tax Filing Assistance Program

The NYSSCPA Mid-Hudson Chapter has launched the Mid-Hudson Military Income Tax Filing Assistance Program. Through this program, volunteers will provide free personal income tax return filing service to members of the U.S. Armed Forces who were on active duty in a combat zone or qualified hazardous duty area. Because military personnel and their families can take advantage of a number of combat zone tax benefits, exclusions, and extensions, which may be confusing to them, Mid-Hudson CPAs with background in personal income tax preparation are ideally suited to provide this expertise and guidance.

How the program works

The NYSSCPA Mid-Hudson Chapter will match CPA volunteers with military personnel who qualify for this service and live and work in their area. Volunteers will assist in completing personal income tax returns, helping qualified persons and their families take full advantage of armed forces tax benefits, exclusions, and filing and payment extensions.

To volunteer

To participate in this project, please fill out and submit a volunteer sign-up form. For additional information, please contact Lori Jansen at (845) 567-9000 x248 or ljansen@vddw.com.
