NYS Property Tax Info Online

New York State's Office of Real Property Tax Services has positioned itself as an essential resource for navigating the state's hodgepodge of local tax jurisdictions.

Taxpayers and their preparers can click on an interactive map of the state and drill down to individual locales. For each county a wealth of data is available. For each jurisdition, taxpayers can look up assessment roll dates, useful in managing property tax payments. Each town's and village's municipal tax levy is also available, as well as exemptions.

Perhaps most useful of all is the comprehensive list of state, county and local officials, in case taxpayers have to contact the right office for questions or problems. Residents of Clarkstown, N.Y. , for example, can easily find the assessor, town supervisor and receiver of taxes, and relevant data is available for all other towns and villages as well.
