New York State Society of CPAs Launches NextGen Leader Institute to Develop Future Accounting Leaders, in Partnership with ConvergenceCoaching®
New York, NY — The New York State Society of CPAs (NYCPA), in partnership with ConvergenceCoaching®, LLC, is proud to announce the launch of the NextGen Leaders Institute, a transformative multiple-month leadership program designed for up-and-coming leaders seeking to grow their impact, visibility, and influence within their careers and communities.
The program will officially begin on September 24, 2025, and feature seven dynamic virtual leadership sessions taught by nationally recognized experts from ConvergenceCoaching. The NextGen Leaders Institute will focus on equipping emerging leaders with the tools, strategies, and insights needed to meet the evolving demands of today’s accounting profession and to become the leaders their firms need. Upon completion, 12 CPE credits will be awarded
“Today’s accounting profession is changing rapidly, and it is critical that we invest in the next generation of accounting and financial professional leaders,” said Calvin Harris, Jr., NYCPA’s CEO. “The NextGen Leaders Institute offers young professionals the opportunity to build skills, communicate with impact, and expand their influence within their organizations and the broader community, so they become the leaders they want to see in their firms.”
The curriculum covers six impactful topics:
- Being a Leader Regardless of Your Role
- Creating a Culture of Ownership and Accountability
- Becoming a More Impactful Communicator
- Increasing Your Professional Visibility and Reach
- The Path to Senior Leadership and Public Impact
- Anticipating the Market – Trends and Success Measures

The NextGen Leaders Institute is open to young professionals across New York State and beyond. Registration is now available, with NYCPA members receiving a discounted rate of $349 and non-members at $449.
