The NYSSCPA will hold its 8th annual Leadership Conference, July 13-15 at the Turning Stone Resort in Verona, N.Y.

Society invitees have secured their reservations, leaving the opportunity for additional Society members and their spouses to attend this three-day annual leadership event at a centrally located resort that offers world class golf courses, a large casino and day spa in the heart of New York state’s Finger Lakes district. This year’s conference will focus on revising the NYSSCPA’s strategic plan, which outlines the Society’s five goals and core values. The Society’s current strategic plan can be found on the NYSSCPA Web site: http://www.nysscpa.org/society/strategicplan.htm.

As always, the conference also will feature workshops and committee sessions aimed to bolster and renew members’ leadership skills and provide networking opportunities for Society leaders, or those interested in joining the Society’s leadership ranks in the future.

The general conference session for all attendees begins at 2 p.m. on Sunday, July 13. The two-hour program, designed to help members make the most of their leadership role in the Society, will be followed by one-hour networking meetings for committee and chapter members.

A cocktail hour will begin at 7 p.m. with dinner served at 8 p.m. A cash bar will be open until midnight.

Monday will feature a full-day strategic planning workshop led by Glenn Tecker of Tecker Consulting. Society leaders and members will spend the day hammering out the Society’s future direction by reviewing the current strategic plan, creating new goals and determining strategies to achieve those goals. The workshop will be followed by another cocktail reception and dinner.

Members may wish to stay through Tuesday for the Society’s open Board of Directors meeting. Only board members are required to attend.

Members may also want to arrive earlier than Sunday to enjoy resort amenities, however the Society has reserved a limited block of rooms for Friday and Saturday, so early arrivals will be accommodated on a first-come, first-served basis.
